Obituary For Aime SanSouci

Aime San Souci, Resident and Church Organist at the RI Veterans Home in Bristol passed February 4, 2021 at age 98. Aime shared his love of music and singing every Sunday morning for over 10 years.

As you can tell from his name he was French. Born in Fall River, Massachusetts he was fluent in French, teaching it for several years. His name translates: To love without worry.

He proudly served in the Army during WWII. He was a member of the 88th Infantry Division moving across Italy and France and was awarded the Purple Heart. He said of his time in the service that he would do it again.

Aime traveled as part of The Honor Flight in 2016. This wonderful Non-profit honors our senior American Veterans with a very full day, flying to Washington, DC to visit and reflect at the Memorials for no charge. This was only his 2nd time in an airplane. The 1st was being airlifted to an Army hospital in Italy and he was trying to see out the window of the plane.

Besides music and his van/camper he loved dogs, playing cards, boating and was an excellent pool player. Aime was a very caring gentleman and always made you feel special, greeting all he passed in the halls with a smile and Good Morning or Good Afternoon. He is survived by his best friends Diane Mercier, Deacon Scott Brown and Marilyn Mott Tolleson.

A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at a later date in the Chapel at the RI Veterans Home 480 Metacom Ave. Bristol, RI Rest in Peace. www.wjsmithfh.com
