Obituary For Arlene E Peters

Bristol Arlene E. (Tavares) Peters,80, of Bristol, died peacefully at home on Sunday May 6, 2018.

She was the loving wife of the late Robert J. Peters.

Born in Warren she was the daughter of Albert H. and Mary (Barboza) Tavares. She was a Secretary for Raytheon and American Tourister for many years before her retirement.

A graduate of Warren High School Class of 1955 and Katharine Gibbs School. A Bristol resident for over 50 years, she was a parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Mrs. Peters was a member of the garden club, she enjoyed swimming, knitting, needlepoint, painting and stenciling. She was also an avid reader. She is survived by her son Scott Peters and his wife Lauren of North Kingstown, her daughter Kimberly Peters of Providence,and her brother Albert Tavares and his wife Catherine of Warren. Arlene was the doting grandmother of Matthew and William Peters, and the aunt of Lori Andreozzi and Audrey Scott.

She was also the mother of the late Craig Peters.

Her funeral will be held Saturday May 12, 2018 at 8:00am from the SMITH FUNERAL and MEMORIAL SERVICES,8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00am in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 500 Metacom Avenue, Warren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

    Kim and Scott and family, I am so sorry to hear of my longtime friend and classmate Arlene's passing. We have had so many wonderful memories together for so many years.I have pictures of us together when we were around 3 or 4 years old. I will miss her and hold you all in my thoughts and prayers.     Words cannot express how sad I feel about Arlene's passing. I have known her since the 3rd. grade and worked with her and Bob for 25+ years at Raytheon. I felt so sad for her family at the wake. I am sure she is in Heaven. God Bless you Arlene, we all love you.
