Obituary For Corey George Chrisman

Corey G. Chrisman, 49, of Barrington, RI passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Rhode Island Hospital. A son of David and Georgia (Price) Chrisman, Corey spent his childhood in Cincinnati before moving to Massachusetts in 1988 and finally settling in Rhode Island in 2012. Corey was known as a great guy and always the life of the party who loved to make people laugh. He was a Jack of all Trades and could figure out how to fix just about anything or do any task that needed to be done. He was a hard-working man and would always be there to lend a hand to anyone. In his free time, Corey loved spending time outdoors hunting, fishing and, for a time, beekeeping. He was an excellent cook, grill master and meat smoker, and enjoyed spending time cooking for friends and family. Most of all, Corey loved his family, those he considered family, and his friends and would spend as much time with them as possible. In addition to his parents, David and Georgia, Corey is survived by his three sons, Tyler Chrisman of Weymouth, MA, Austin Chrisman of Riverside, RI and Garrett Chrisman of Wareham, MA; his daughter, Anna Chrisman of Wareham, MA; his loving girlfriend, Heather Frerichs and her children, Emma and Thomas Frerichs of Barrington; his two brothers, Todd Chrisman and his wife Amanda of Shapleigh, ME and Sean Chrisman and his wife Rachel of Marshfield, MA; and his nieces, Lillian and Violet Chrisman. Services are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, RI, where the family will receive relatives and friends for visitation on Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 3-7PM. A celebration of life event will be held in June. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Galactic Theater or Mount Hope Farm in Corey's name. To all Corey's family and friends im so sorry for your loss. Though I didn't know Corey well but the short time I got to care for him he was a very kind and gracious man which made his death very difficult even for us that only knew him a short time. He loved his family and fought hard for them. May he rest in peace and I will continue to pray for you all during this very difficult time. Erin (MICU)

HCorey was always willing to offer a helping hand to anyone who needed help at Mount Hope Farm. Recently he was there to help a few of us decorate the Christmas tree in the Inn when we ran into a few obstacles. We couldn't reach the top of the tree and with a big smile he topped it off for us! He was a hard worker and he has left a lasting legacy with all he touched with his skillful hand. He was always kind and gracious and he will be missed but warmly remembered. He was simply a good guy! My deepest condolences to his family and to all those who loved him. Rest In Peace dear Corey. Susan C. Maloney MHF Trustee
