Sissy, I canâ??t express the feeling of loss without you.

Loving Ellen was easy to do. She possessed a great sense of fun and silliness and was always eager to share that gift with me. I have many memories of us acting like idiots during our school years, racing through the hallways pretending we were Starsky and Hutch, and throwing volleyballs down the locker room stairs at Quirk. I am so lucky to count her among my most cherished friends. I'll keep my promise to you, and will return to sit on the wall at Warren Beach just as we did during exam week in '78. No sunburned feet for you this time. Godspeed, my friend. Lovingly, Janet Amaral

True Blue friends in good times and hard times. Words cannot say how deeply I love you or how much I will miss you and our friendship. Love Always, Maggie

Words when I think of Ellen; Flower child, Sensitive, Sweet, Delicate, Loving, Empathetic, Smart, Really Smart, Hysterical, Quippy (she would love this word), Proud (of her amazing kids), Truth Seeker and Defender of those less fortunate. Notice the words missing? Good Project Manager, Excel Wizard, Team Player, Did what she had to do to get the job done... all of these apply but at the end of the day all that matters is Ellen's essence and how she made others feel. And she always made me feel special. Ellen my friend, I absolutely will see you again and know for sure you that you are truly free. My love and respect for you has only grown and know that in your honor I will always push back on the bullies of this world. Maria Ambrose

I have so many recollections of Ellen - Cub Scouts with Owen & Eric, Girl Scouts with Allie, Chelsea & Zoe, camping, whitewater rafting, card night with bras hanging from the chandelier (don't ask!! ;-0), raucous parties, and quiet moments by the fire. A trio of unconventional, fun loving Moms, a triad of deep friendship - Ellen, Maggie and me. How can it be that we won't be making more shenanigans together? No more extreme silliness on St. Patrick's Day, serving as Brian's Kitchen B, your Irish good-byes? No catching up over breakfast or at night on someone's deck? Our world is considerably less bright without you, El.

I am so sad to hear of Ellen's passing. I've had the good fortune to work with her at FM Global, as part of the United Way efforts. She always lit up the room with her smile, her enthusiasm and her love of life. My condolences to Ellen's family and friends.

Ellen was funny, warm, and great to work with. I am sad and I do miss her. My thoughts are with her family! A last farewell from Frankfurt, Germany my friend!

Heartfelt condolences to Ellen's family and friends. I know she will be missed. I spent so many hours with Ellen growing up... hanging out at Burr's Hill, ping pong in the basement, bike riding (Mary taught me how to ride!), getting into trouble. So many memories of hanging out at the beach - the whole neighborhood came out at 6 when the lifeguards went home. On one of these evenings, Ellen and I floated on our inflatables right into the current at the center of the river...we were gabbing away without a care in the world until a bull horn yelled our names and we looked around to see several boats and multiple people ashore urging us to come to shore. So many memories...lots of good times.

Iâ??ve had the pleasure of working with Ellen for the past 10 years. Iâ??m terribly sad to hear about her passing. Iâ??ll always remember our heart-to-hearts, the laughs we shared, and her sparkling spirit! She will be missed.

Ellen was my beautiful loving cousin, a brilliant classmate and a raucously funny and much revered friend. She was always a defender of the underprivileged and forgotten and she sought to be a constant force against the bullying that goes unnoticed by those who lack her deep empathy and sensitivity. She loved Napoleon Dynamite and Little Miss Sunshine, movies where the underdog did not win in the conventional Hollywood manner by crushing their opponent, but in the only way we truly win...surrounded by love of friends and family with the kind of powerful laughter that brings you to tears. In that way, Ellen was first, and I am laughing through my tears as I remember her now.

I will always remember your smile and your ability to make us laugh. Rest in Peace Ellen..."78"

So sorry to hear this. I met Ellen through work several years ago. She was always smiling and had a terrific giggle. My condolences to the family.

I only knew Ellen for a few years and had the pleasure of working with her in the HR team at FM Global. We bonded very quickly over a love for animals (particularly rescue animals) and i was always keen to catch up and hear how she (and the pets) were doing when i visited the US. I am so sad to hear of her passing, and send my condolences to her family, and the cats. Ellen was really sharp witted, very clever and so compassionate. I am really going to miss hearing from her.

I knew Ellen though a book club at FM Global. She had a contagious enthusiasm and curiosity. I will miss her. My thought with all her family and friends.
