Obituary For Francis Joseph Kearney

Francis Joseph Kearney, 87 of Bristol died Friday, April 15th at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, he was the son of the late Joseph Francis and Rose Anne (O'Rourke) Kearney. He was married to his beloved Margaret "Rita" Frances (Priestly) Kearney for over 60 years. Mr Kearney and Family immigrated to Bristol from Northern Ireland on Sept 4, 1975. He was a mechanic and founder/owner of Emerald Auto in Bristol. He was a cyclist who loved to race in Ireland. He loved football and especially the Patriots. He enjoyed fishing. He loved making things out of metal. He enjoyed singing and dancing with his wife and was a fan of cowboy movies. He was the loving father of Gary (Sandy) Kearney of Swansea; Brian (Andrea) Kearney of Warren; Julie Kearney-Veader of Bristol and Joanne (Wally) Quinn of Warren. He leaves two sisters, Patricia White of Warren and Maureen Dalton of Bristol. He was the dear grandfather of Alisha, Ryan, Tara, Brandon, Riley, Jenna, CJ, Jordan and Kasey. Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, where family with receive friends, Wednesday, April 20th, 4-8pm. Funeral will be Thursday, 8:30am from the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St Mary's Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Bristol.
