Francis J. Yergeau, lovingly known as "Frank or Frankie", 76, of Warren, RI, peacefully passed away, Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Hope Hospice in Providence, RI.

Born in Cranston, RI he was the son of the late Ovide J. and Lydia (Proulx) Yergeau.

Mr. Yergeau had served for 22 years with the RI National Guard, retiring in 1995. He was also a USPS worker until his retirement in 2008. Frank was a former member of the IOOB, and a member of the Warren Portuguese Club where he enjoyed playing cards, watching baseball and spending time with his dear friends.

Frank is survived by two brothers, Anthony J. Yergeau of Warren, RI, and William Yergeau of Winnabow, NC. He is proceeded in death by his brothers Raymond Yergeau & Joseph "Lefty" Yergeau, sisters Vivian Souza and Althea Tarantelli, and niece Cyndi Yergeau.

Frank was the loving godfather and uncle to Tricia Yergeau-Breault (Steven) of Johnston, RI, loving uncle of David Tarantelli (Michelle) of Warren, RI, Linda Tarantelli Ramsey (Scott) of Bristol, RI, Debra Taylor of Seekonk, MA, John Souza (Val) and Michael Souza (Cheryl) of Rehoboth, MA. He also leaves behind his former wife and dear friend, Paula Yergeau, his favorite feline & "baby", Hennessey, as well as many friends he considered family.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022, from 8-9:30AM, immediately followed by funeral services at 10am in Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd., Warren.

Burial will take place in St. Jean the Baptiste Cemetery, Vernon St., Warren.
