Obituary For George "Ziggy" Jay Seyez

George "Ziggy" Jay Seyez III, 61, of Bristol, RI, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Rhode Island Hospital.

Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of Joan M. (Lawrence) Seyez of Bristol, RI, and the late George Jay Seyez Jr.

George was the owner and operator of Special Moments Limousine Co. for 23 years, retiring in 2019. He also ran the kitchen at the Town Beach in Bristol for many years. George was committed to enhancing the lunch program for children at a summer camp for over 30 years. He also supported the local seniors' cookout and volunteered with his family at the recreation center feeding senior citizens daily during COVID.

George was a proud life member of the Bristol Fire Department for Defiance Hose Company #1, serving for over 40 years. He was also a member of the Bristol Fire Police and a life member of the R.I. State Firemen's League.

George enjoyed traveling with his son; they visited over 100 state and national parks throughout the United States. When he was younger, he was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and once traveled cross country on his motorcycle. He also loved 55 Chevys.

Besides his mother, he is survived by twin sisters Mary Beth Olsen (John) and Lisa A. Marshall (Gary), his son, David Squillante (Doran Smith), and Douglas Klein (Kendra), who was like a son to him. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, godchildren, and his beloved comfort dog, Zakim. George was a friend of Bill W. since 1989.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2022, from 4-7 PM in Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd., Warren, RI.

A Prayer Service will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at 7 PM in Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd., Warren.

Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bristol Fire Memorial, 4 Annawamscutt Dr., Bristol, RI 02809 or to the American Kidney Foundation, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852.

    Very sorry to hear of George's passing. I will miss his kindness, sincerity, and sense of humor.

    I didn't know George personally but I was friends with his mom and dad. They were devoted parents to their children and grandchildren. You can tell that young George was a giving person who tried to make others lives better through his kindness.
