Obituary For Howard M. Springer

Riverside -- Howard M. (Howie) Springer, a longtime resident of Riverside, RI, died peacefully on January 13,2018 at the age of 80. He is survived by Courtney Saunders Springer, his wife of 45 years; a son Clinton E. Springer of Rehoboth, MA; a grandson, Eric Springer of Mashpee, MA; a sister in law Tracy Saunders Huntington and a brother in law David Huntington of Williston, VT. He was predeceased by his parents Mildred Martin and Howard J. Springer and a grandson Clinton E. Springer II. He spent 43 years as a commercial fisherman, enjoying the freedom of working Narragansett Bay and earning respect for the waters he fished. He Loved boating and camping off of Prudence Island. He was also a NASCAR fan. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with many beloved dogs, cats and other pets. Before retiring in 2010, he was employed for 10 years at Miriam Hospital in the Environmental Services Department. At his request there will be no wake or service.
