Obituary For Joseph Dustin Rioux

Joseph D. "Huggy Bear" Rioux Sr., 46, of Warren, went home to be with the Lord, our Heavenly Father, Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at the Miriam Hospital, Providence from necrotizing fasciitis.

He was the husband of Jennifer Ann (Bernard) Rioux.

Joey worked as a carpenter for Union Local 330 for over 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, playing games with family and going to the beach. The Fourth of July was his favorite holiday. His hobby was restoring his 1980 Chevy Camaro.

Besides his beloved wife of 25 years, he is survived by three sons, Joseph "JoJo Bear" Rioux III of Warren, RI, and Dakota "Koda Bear" Rioux of Warren, RI, Dylan Quiterio and his wife Tiffany of Warren, RI, a daughter, Jadaelyn Jo-lei Rioux of Warren, RI, three brothers, Russell Frances of Barrington, RI, Michael Akervik of MN., and Robert Rioux Jr., of Warren, RI, four sisters, Tribbie Foster of Warren, RI, Sandra Frances of Warren, RI, Valeda Kennedy of CT., and Kerri Ferreira of Fall River, MA, and two grandchildren, Anastacia and Alijah. 2nd Corinthians 9:7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful Giver. There's no doubt he was a cheerful giver. On 4th of July, it was like Christmas for a kid. He loved his fireworks and loved sharing them with those who were around him. He made many holidays memorable with his "Go big or go home" attitude. Huggy had the biggest heart, no one can deny that. May the fond memories live on a lifetime. Psalm 91:4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find Refuge: his faithfulness will be your shield and Rampart.
