Obituary For Linda L. Cappuccilli

Linda L. “Libbi” (Pepowski) Cappuccilli, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at Miriam Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Fall River, MA, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Linda (Cappuccilli) Pepowski.

A 1961 graduate of St. Mary Academy - Bayview, Libbi continued her education and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Salve Regina University. She then went on to earn her Master’s in education from RIC.

She was passionate about teaching and taught 6th grade for nearly 30 years at St. Philomena’s School in Portsmouth, RI. Libbi retired in 2010 to spend more time with her grandchildren who were the light of her life.

Libbi was full of life and truly knew how to live. She was not only a phenomenal mother and grandmother, but she was an incredible friend to so many.

She loved to travel with friends, volunteered for many years at PPAC as an usher and saw every Broadway show she could. She went on many adventures with her best friend, Donna “Ma” to Maine to watch the Moon rise, but somehow missed it because they were looking in the wrong direction.

She will be remembered for her quick wit and great sense of humor.

She is survived by her son, Michael Cappuccilli and his wife Jess; two grandchildren Leah Noel and Jack Michael, all of Warren.

Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, RI 02885. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. For directions or tributes, please visit www.wjsmithfh.com.

Dear Michael and Family, The memories I had with your mom make me smile! Perhaps you were too young to remember my frequent visits to your house on Fesser Ave. in Bristol. Id put my daughter, Susan, in her carriage, and walk to your home, four houses away. We shared many stories over a cup of coffee. She was my best neighbor and my lovely friend. That was over 45 years ago. I remember frequently telling her that she had the prettiest house on Fesser Ave. My sincere condolences to you and your family. Terry Pasqual

I met Libby when I volunteered at The Providence Performing Arts Center. We worked isle 4 and at the door many times together. With her, Lois Anntio and others, isle 4 was always a show unto itself. She was always smiling, and l loved her laugh. She was always a warm and loving person and she will be missed. Rest in Peace Libby! Fly with the Angels 🙏🙏

I can't imagine going to PPAC without Libby! Because of your mother Michael I saw so many great Broadway shows. There was only one really horrible show that we stuck out to the end and had many good laughs about how we all thought that the second Act just couldn't be worse than the First Act. I'm really going to miss her spicy, saucy, sense of humor. A night out with Libby was l better than an Energy drink. Libby will always be a hard act to follow. My deepest condolences to you all.

Dear Michael and Family, I am so sorry to hear of Libbi's death. As you can guess, I have so many wonderful memories of my Gr. 6 teaching partner and of Libbi as a long-time member of staff at St. Phil's! You and the family are in my prayers, and I send my deep sympathy to you all. She was a GREAT woman and I know she will have received a royal welcome from the God she loved and served so well during her life. May she now enjoy the fullness of life in heaven.
