Obituary For Steven Kenneth Disano

Steven "Ducky" K. Disano, 57, of Warren, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Warren Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation. The son of the late Albert and Zenith (Donati) Disano, he was a long-time resident of Warren. Although Steven lived most of his life within a block of Mechanics Engine Co #2 and never drove a car, he was a long-time member of the Fire Company and could guide the Machine Chauffeur to any address in Bristol County from memory. No matter the weather, he was frequently seen working on the Station's yard and, when snow fell, behind the Station snowblower clearing half of the Water Street Sidewalks for our neighbors in his shorts and sleeveless shirt... a true "Northend Character", he will be missed. Steven is survived by his brothers, Albert Disano of Warren and Michael Disano. He was the brother of the late Cindy Janus of NY and Robin Disano. Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 10AM in St. Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main St. Warren. Burial will be at St. Alexanders Cemetery, Warren. If you are of a mind to remember Steve in a special way, stop by Station 2 anytime and plant a flower or a boxwood, just sit awhile and smell them in the Spring, or do something for a Northend Neighbor like shovel snow or rake some leaves.

    Ducky/Stevie....Too many memories to count. But how could I forget you hanging out with Austin when he first started talking and saying his name. You called him AJ (austin james) Cucumber because when he said his own name...well when he tried anyway, he couldn't so you thought you'd make it easier for him.     I remember living next door to you, and I had an old chevy that had smoke coming out from the hood and you ran outside to see what was wrong. I thought how nice to live next door to a firefighter- you had just joined the department. The next thing I know, you were running down the street to to jump on the fire truck to ride it back.
