Obituary For Agnes R. Noonan
Agnes R. (Amaral) Noonan, 89, of Warren, RI passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025 with her loving family by her side. A daughter of the late Joseph and Amelia C. (DeOliveira) Amaral, Agnes grew up in Providence before moving to New Jersey. It is here where she met her beloved husband, Joseph J. Noonan, and they resided there for several years. They returned to Warren in 1966 where she lived with her husband, who passed in 2020.
Agnes was a devout Catholic and was very involved in the St. Thomas the Apostle Parish for many years. She could often be found volunteering her time at a variety of events hosted by the church each year. You could find her in the kitchen or serving the community at these events. She was proudest to serve as a Madon during the Holy Ghost festival. In addition to volunteering her time at the church, she volunteered her time with the lunch program at Libby Lane, where she resided. In her spare time, Agnes enjoyed visiting the nearby casinos and bowling with her late husband. When her grandchildren were younger, Agnes enjoyed taking them on long car rides to Newport Beach or Crescent Park where she would let them ride the carousel until they were ready to hop off. She got great enjoyment out of the time she spent showing her grandchildren all that the community had to offer.
Agnes is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Alves and her husband Bruce of Warren, RI; her grandchildren, Kayla Strimple (Ryan), and Kyle Alves (Brooke); and her great grandchildren, Edward, Miles, and Theodore.
Services are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, RI 02885. Relatives and guests are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 10AM in St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, 500 Metacom Ave. Warren, RI 02885. Burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, 500 Metacom Ave. Warren, RI 02885.

I was very sorry to hear of the passing of Agnes. I got to know Agnes by riding on the Warren Senior shuttle. She also encouraged me to go to the Warren Senior Center after my husband passed. I use to jokingly tell her she's the only one shorter than me. I considered her my friend. She did indeed love her family and her church.
