Alfred M. Medeiros, 94 of Warren, died Saturday Aug. 29 2015 at Rhode Island Hospital.

He was the husband of the late Rita (Yergeau) Medeiros.

Alfred was born in Bristol, a son of the late Manuel and Angelina (Martin) Medeiros.

Mr. Medeiros was a heavy equipment operator for the State of Rhode Island for over 37 years before retiring.

He was a Warren resident all of his life, and a parishioner of St. Jean Baptiste Church.

Alfred was a life-long member of the Warren Fire Dept., Rough and Ready Eng. 5 for over 45 years, and was a bake master for many years, he also belonged to the Portuguese club and enjoyed farming.

He is survived by his sons Kenneth Medeiros Sr. of Bristol, Richard Rick Medeiros of Warren, Alfred M. Freddie Medeiros Jr. of Rehoboth, his daughters Jo-Ann Ward of East Providence, and Laurie Medeiros of Lancaster MA. Also survived by his sister Irene Phoenix of Miami Florida. Mr. Medeiros was the grandfather of 13, and the great grandfather of 14, and also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Manuel Medeiros, Seraphine Medeiros, Celia Stout, Patricia Medeiros.

His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:00am from the Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Jean Baptiste Church, 328 Main St., Warren, burial in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend, calling hours Monday from 4- 7pm.
