Alfred Pires, 79, of Harris Ave. Warren, died Sunday Nov. 16 2014 at the V.A. Medical Center in Providence. He was the husband of the late Clementina (DiSano) Pires.

Mr. Pires was a shipper for the Converse Rubber Company for over 20 years.

He has been a Warren resident for over 36 years coming from Barrington , he was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Bay Church.

Alfred was an avid fisherman, he liked to take rides to the water, he was close to his grandchildren, and he liked to tell them war stories and jokes.

He is survived by his daughter Rosemary Pires of Warren, his brothers Louie Pires of Bristol, and George Pires of Warren, and also Eddy Pires.

He was the grandfather of Edward, John, Scott, and Ashley.

Mr. Pires was the brother of the late Robert, Joseph, Arthur, Frank, Frances Pires.

His funeral will be held Thursday at 9:00am from the Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd., Warren, followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main St. Warren. Burial will follow in Santa Maria del Campo Cemetery, Barrington.
