Obituary For Amelia F. Adaes

Amelia Ferreira (Alves) Adaes, 99, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at the Millbrook Nursing Home Fall River, MA. She was the daughter of the late Carlos and Mariana (Ferreira) Alves, beloved wife of the late Armando Adaes and beloved mother of the late Jose L. Adaes.

Amelia was a devout Catholic and long-time communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in Warren, RI. Her favorite pastimes included spending hours tending to her garden that was abundant with beautiful flowers all summer long. When not gardening, she enjoyed cooking and always had plenty of food for everyone no matter who dropped in for a visit. Most of all, she loved spending time with her beloved family.

Amelia is survived by her sons, Belarmino Adaes and his wife Judite, Armenio Adaes and his wife Vidalia, Alberto Adaes and his wife Marie and Jaime Adaes; her daughters, Maria DeLemos and her husband Augusto, Maria Medeiros, Izilda Reis and her husband Stephen; grandsons, Jason Adaes, Scottie Adaes, Kevin Medeiros, Matthew Afonso, Zachary Adaes and Jacob Adaes; her granddaughters, Mary DeLory, Lisa Adaes, Amy Medeiros, Nicole Donahue and Amanda Afonso; great grandchildren, Madison Adaes, Joao “JP” Medeiros and Tyler Donahue; her brother, Jaime Alve; her sisters, Silvia Santo, Dina Carvalho, Virginia Machado and Maria Alice Alves. She was the sister of the late Lionel DaSilva, IIidio Alves, Manuel Alves, Belmiro Alves, Fernando Alves, Henrique Ferreira and Maria Amelia Alves.

Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, RI 02885. Services are private.

    Our deepest condolences for the entire family. Our families spent lots of time socializing and visiting each other's home while in our youth. Laughter & Food at Sra Amelia's was never lacking. May she rest in peace.
