Ann Mariette Asselin, 89 of Warren, died Saturday, August 1st, at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center. She was the daughter of the late Armand and Blanche (Hudon) Beaulieu. She was the beloved wife of Andre A. Asselin for 55 years.
Ann was a registered nurse for the Rhode Island Veterans Home for many years after graduating from Newport Hospital School of Nursing. After retiring, she continued her love of nursing and devoted several years of her service as a nurse for St. Luke School, Barrington. Ann was an active member in the Warren community and church. She had a strong devotion to family and conveyed love and appreciation for small and large family gatherings. She was a voracious reader, enjoyed baking, and gardening. Her love of cats over decades was a reflection of her gentle and patient heart.
Besides her husband, she leaves her sons, Christien H. Asselin and his wife Nancy of Warren and A. Andre Asselin and his wife Laura of Morrisville, NC. She was the grandmother of Paige “Ollie” and Wyatt Asselin. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Herve Chauvin, of Warren, and her son Stephen A. Asselin. Ann is survived by many cherished cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren where family will receive friends Monday, August 17, 2026, 8:30-10:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11am in St Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main St., Warren. Entombment will be in St Jean Baptiste Cemetery.
