Ann M. (Dalton) Sousa, 89, of Bristol, RI passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 29, 2024. A daughter of the late Patrick and Blanche (Dufour) Dalton and the beloved wife of Joseph Sousa for 55 years, Ann grew up in Pawtucket, RI before moving to Warren in 1968, then Bristol in 1971 to raise her family.

Ann worked as a Secretary at Corning Glass as well as an Organist for St. Mary’s Church in Pawtucket, RI for 17 years, until marrying and raising a family. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend welcoming all with open arms. She loved to entertain, especially at Christmas and the 4th of July, but was known to happily have a full house throughout the year. Ann remained young at heart throughout her life. She loved her family more than anything and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her loving husband, Joseph, Ann is survived by her son, Joseph Sousa and his wife Rebecca of Bristol, RI; her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Miller and her husband Michael of Bristol, RI; her grandchildren, Kathryn Miller, Abigail Miller, Robert Sousa and Kayleigh Sousa; and her brother, James Dalton and his wife Joan of Norwood, MA. She was the sister of the late Sr. Mary Dalton.

Services will be held at Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, RI, where the family will receive relatives and guests for Visitation on Monday, March 4, 2024 from 4-6PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 11AM in St. Luke’s Church, 108 Washington Rd. Barrington, RI 02806. Burial will follow at North Burial Ground, 1081 Hope St. Bristol, RI.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The Victoria Sousa Foundation, 232 Hope St. Bristol, RI 02809 or the Alzheimer’s Association.
