Obituary For Ann Silvia
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John and Ann (DiMascio) Silvia, beloved husband and wife who shared 67 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, service, and countless cherished memories.
John A. Silvia, 95, of Bristol passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, August 11, 2026. He was the husband of Ann (DiMascio) Silvia for 67 years before his passing.
Born in Bristol, RI, he was the son of the late Antone and Isabel Silvia.
John served in the Rhode Island National Guard 1949-1991. He was a member of the C Battery of the 1/103 Field Artillery. He was a proud member of the American Legion. He was also a member of the Guards of Thunder for many years. He was also a member of the Providence Marine Corps Artillery. He eagerly awaited his weekly Saturday Morning Breakfast Club with his military comrades, who know who they are, every week.
Ann M. (DiMascio) Silvia, 90, of Bristol was reunited with her beloved John on Thursday, August 20, 2026.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Concezio and Rose DiMascio.
She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth’s Church in Bristol for most of her life. She enjoyed baking anything sweet. She enjoyed trips to Foxwoods Casino with her friends for “Whacky Wednesdays”.
They are survived by their daughter, Donna Costello and her husband Michael of Brighton, MA.
They were preceded in death by their son, John M. Silvia.
While each had a life and story of their own, their greatest story was the life they shared together.
Funeral arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, RI where the family will receive friends and guests on Friday, August 21, 2026 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. A joint Memorial Service will be held at Smith Funeral & Memorial Services at 12:00 PM
