Anna V. Urban, 83 of Warren passed away peacefully on Thursday November 27, 2014 with her husband of 58 years Leon Urban and her daughter Jane Urban at her side.

Anna worked in the RI Division of Personnel Administration retiring as a Personnel Aide after 30 years of service. Previous employment included Well-Made Dress in Warren; Westport Senior and Junior High School; and Adaskins Furniture in Fall River.

Formerly of Westport, MA. she attended public schools there; was a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church; was a member of the Girl Scouts and proud of the DAR award she was granted. In high school, Anna served as freshman class president, made the honor roll all four years, and served on the student council and year book committee.

Anna developed her secretarial skills with a diploma in Stenographic from the Campbell School, in New Bedford; and by earning enough credits in the Warren Adult School to qualify for Librarian Aide.

Kind and loving, she enjoyed her work and all those she worked with. Her primary love, however, was her home and family; she enjoyed time with her husband, and was especially devoted to her daughter. In addition to seeing to her home affairs and traveling to work, she ministered to her ailing mother for 20 years.

Her other enjoyments included dinning out with friends, cooking, reading, theater and movies, travel and the Red Sox. She was fond of animals, and had a tender spot in her heart for cats.

Special thanks are extended to her long close friends Shirley Jacques and Rosemary Oliviera who helped comfort Anna in her final hours.

Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd, Warren, where family will receive friends Monday Morning Dec 1, from 9;30 to 10:30am followed by an 11am Mass in St. Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main St. Warren. Burial will be in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Warren.
