Obituary For Anthony DePina

Anthony DePina, 69, of Seekonk, MA, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 13, 2025. A son of the late Hipolito and Alice (Carvara) DePina, Anthony was a lifelong resident of Bristol, RI before moving to Seekonk.

Anthony was always a great athlete who enjoyed playing baseball and football, in his younger years, and continued to stay active throughout his life. He was also an avid sports fan and loved to watch the Patriots play. Anthony was a proud Bristolian and always took the time to enjoy all of the Bristol celebrations, especially the 4th of July. In his leisure time, Anthony liked to spend time at the beach, dining at his favorite restaurants, such as the Liberal Club, or cooking for himself or family and friends. He loved to spend time with his many friends from childhood, always managing to make people laugh with his jokes and great sense of humor. His greatest achievement, however, was his children and his family whom he loved deeply.

Anthony is survived by his son, Craig DePina and his wife Francine of Warren, RI; his daughters, Cailyn DePina and Courtney Rathbone and her husband Isaiah, both of Warren, RI; his grandchildren, Aiden Roberts, Isaiah Rathbone and Niziyah Rathbone; his nieces, Holly Cabral of Warren, RI and Kim DePina of Bristol, RI; and his best friend of many years, Rebecca Pangborn of Seekonk, MA.

Services are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, RI 02885, where the family will receive relatives and guests for Visitation on Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 4-7PM with a Prayer Service being held at 6:15PM.

I just found out a few minutes ago that my friend passed away. We've been friends for many years. Last time we spoke, he was having trouble with his hip. In fact, I tried to call him today and then I saw his obituary post. I am in shock. Rest in peace my friend. You will be missed. Lorie 💔

My sympathy to Rebecca and his family...I spoke with Tony in September at the end of summer concert at Burr's Hill and never imagined it would be the last time to see him. We shared great times in the Men's Softball League in Bristol for many years. RIP DIP 'til we meet again.
