Archana Bipin (Nigam) Sharma, of Portsmouth, RI, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on June 26, 2017. She was 62 years old.

Born in Bareilly, India, Archana moved to Columbia, MO in 1976 and has been a resident of Portsmouth, RI for 36 years.

Throughout her life she has been a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and grandmother. Her passion as a caretaker translated in her professional roles for children and elderly at the Newport Athletic Club, All about Homecare and the United Congregational Church.

Archana is the daughter of the late Bipin Behari Nigam. She is survived by her treasured mother, Annapurna Devi and two loving children, Melindah and Vineet. She also leaves behind her son-in-law, Rhushang, and cherished grandchildren Vaishant, Vihaan and Aamira.

A private cremation is being held on June 29, 2017 followed by a Celebration of Archana's legacy and life at the United Congregation Church, 524 Valley Road, Middletown, RI at 4 pm.

In lieu of flowers, we ask donations be made to the Archana Sharma Trust to fund the education of socio economically challenged girls, attn: Megan Weymouth at United Congregation Church.
