Obituary For Arlene M. Benevides

Arlene M. (Langello) Benevides, 86, of Bristol, passed away on March 14, 2024. She was the wife of Albert Benevides for 65 years.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late John Sr. and Adeline (Boeniger) Langello

A 1955 graduate of Warren High School, Arlene began her career as a keypunch operator at Kaiser Aluminum and then for Colony Communication. She retired from the Providence Journal working in the payroll department.

Arlene was full of life and enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, hunting for a good bargain, and swimming. She loved to dance, travel, and swim. Her favorite expression was ‘it is what it is’.

In addition to her husband Albert, she is survived by her children, Cynthia Benevides, Caron (Benevides) and her husband Chris LaPlante and Kenneth Benevides and his wife MaryLou; loving grandmother of Kelsie (LaPlante) Silva, Shelbi (LaPlante) Mitchell, Kate Benevides, Jacob Benevides, and Julia Benevides; great grandmother of Caleb Silva, Brooklyn Silva, Harper Mitchell, and Archer Mitchell. She was the sister of the late Rita Rishe, Felix Langello, and John Langello Jr.

Services are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, RI, where the family will receive relatives and guests for Visitation on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 from 4-7PM. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 8:30-9:30AM followed by a Funeral Service at 10AM in Radiant Christian Assembly of God, 895 Main St. Warren, RI. Burial will follow at North Burial Ground, 1081 Hope St. Bristol, RI.
