Obituary For Audrey Lee O'Brien
Audrey L. O’Brien, 77, of Warren, Rhode Island, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Eleanor Maddox of Warren.
Audrey cherished the town she called home, where she built a lifetime of memories and lasting connections. A graduate of Warren High School, Class of 1965, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life—family gatherings, laughter, and the familiar streets and shores of her hometown.
She will be remembered for her deep love of family, her incredible cooking—especially her cherished Polish recipes—and her passion for gardening. Whether in the kitchen or tending to her flowers, she created spaces filled with warmth, beauty, and care. She passed down not only recipes and traditions, but also a legacy of love and togetherness.
Audrey was previously married to Paul Morrissette, who predeceased her, and later married her devoted husband, Thomas O’Brien. She is survived by her four sons: David Morrissette (John), Kerry O’Brien (Erin), Eric O’Brien (Kelly), and Joel Morrissette (Paula). She was a proud and loving grandmother to Abbie, Olivia, Beckett, Ava, Julia, Summer, and Maverick, who were truly the light of her life and lovingly knew her as “Cha Cha.” She took great pride in all of their personal successes and accomplishments.
A passionate fan of New England sports, Audrey loved cheering on the Patriots, Red Sox, and Celtics. She found comfort in music, especially Carly Simon, Rod Stewart, Barbra Streisand, and treasured time spent at Burrs Hill Park, Warren Town Beach, and in the company of those she loved most.
Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, RI 02885. In keeping with her wishes, a Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025 from 12-3PM at the Bristol Elks’ Club, 1 Constitution St. Bristol, RI 02809. The family extends heartfelt thanks to HopeHealth Hospice and Palliative Care for their compassionate and overwhelming support. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her strength, her laughter, and the boundless love she shared with all who knew her. Hers was a simple life, beautifully lived.
