Obituary For Bruce Joseph Trombley

Bruce J. Trombley, 60, of Warren, RI, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Hope Hospice, Providence. Born in Attleboro, MA, he was the son of the late Oliver Leo Trombley and Florence (Ghys) Trombley Galarneau. Mr. Trombley was a retired Emergency Medical Technician for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and in twenty years of service helped save hundreds of lives. At the time of his passing he had been the beloved custodian at the George Hail Library for seventeen years. He was a Communicant of St. Mary of the Bay Church in Warren. His intimates describe him as a warm and friendly person who could annoy, but who would give a stranger in need the shirt off of his back. His life was a miracle, and he will be sorely missed by those whose lives were brightened by his presence. He is survived by a son, Derrik Trombley of Warren, RI, a daughter, Lauren Trombley of Warren, RI, two brothers, Michael Trombley of Frostproof, FL, and Stephen Trombley of Rehoboth, MA, a sister, Naomi Daconceicao of Rehoboth, MA, an uncle, Joseph Paquin of Attleboro, MA, and his step-father, Phillip Galarneau. Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022 in Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd., Warren from 4-7PM. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 10AM in Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd., Warren.     I've been blessed to call Bruce my friend since middle school. Thank you friend for your unconditional love & always having my back.     Bruce was the only one person who called me every day to make sure I was ok when I had Covid in January. I'll miss him very much as a colleague and friend. He treated me and my son as if we were his own. My thoughts and prayers to Bruce's beloved children. God bless.

    We can never thank Bruce enough for his years of service and dedication to the library. He gave his all each and every day, showed up to help in all kinds of bad weather, library maintenance emergencies, and any other time we needed him. It has been a gift to know and be friends with Bruce and to watch him raise his wonderful children Derrik and Lauren. Bruce, please know that all of your gestures, both big and small, were deeply appreciated by all of us and we will never forget how you helped us all these years. -with love from all of your George Hail family.
