Charles Clay Sevity (Csaba Csanad Sevity) 86 years old of Swansea, MA, died, Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at Charlton Memorial Hospital, Fall River.

He was the husband of the late Joyce (Steere) Sevity.

Born in Budapest, Hungary, he was the son of the late Andras Sevity and Franciska Benko. Charlie was preceded in death by 4 brothers, and two sisters: Vilmos Csanad, Ferenc Sevity, Margit Csanad, Andras Karoly Csanad, Magdolna Sevity, Elemer Sevity. He is survived by nieces and nephews that reside in Hungary.

He is survived by two step-sons, Stephen Powell of Valrico, FL, and Scott Powell of Uxbridge, MA, two step-daughters, Sandra Powell and Susan Nordin both of Harrisville, RI, ten grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren.

Csaba Csanad fled Hungary in December 1956 after the uprising against communism. As a refugee he found his way to Germany to make arrangements to live in the U.S.A. changing his name to Charles Clay Sevity.

Charlie came to New York with a degree in technical engineering and metallurgy. Throughout his life, Charlie worked as a process manager for wire, cable, rubber or plastics at different manufacturing plants. Finally retiring in 2004 from Tillotson Rubber Co. in Fall River, Ma.

Funeral services and burial will be private.
