Obituary For Charles William Rulon

Charles William Rulon, 63, of Warren, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Katherine Every-Rulon with whom he shared 32 years. He was an amazing father and provider.

Born in Brookline, MA, he was the son of the late Phillip and Elizabeth (Sherman) Rulon.

A lifelong resident of the area, he attended Westport High School in Westport, Ma. He furthered his education at The Cambridge Culinary Art Institute.

A dedicated worker, in his earlier years he worked as a chef for Ellie’s Place Restaurant in Westport and as a crab fisherman.

Charles was the owner of CR Dental Prosthetics from the mid 90’s until his retirement in 2019. In his retirement he worked at Columbus Fuel.

He was a member of The First United Methodist Church of Warren/Bristol and volunteered for the Warren Fire Department Engine 1 and Ladder. He cooked for Ecumenical Meals on Wheels for decades, serving meals to the elderly. He donated dental prosthetics to the Rhode Island foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped for many years.

He enjoyed camping, gardening, science fiction movies and spending time with his dog Max. Charles was always ready to lend a hand whether he was volunteering his skills or helping friends.

In addition to his loving wife Katherine, he is survived by his two daughters Jenny-Lu and Morgan Faith Rulon of Warren, and his brother Phillip Rulon of Alaska. He was the brother of the late Chris Dickey and Waldo “Smokey” Rulon.

Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, RI 02885. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 5PM in the First United Methodist Church, 25 Church St. Warren, RI 02885.

    Went up to see Charlie at his work today and shocked to find out he had passed. Terrible. So sorry to hear ..was such a nice guy. Told me of his wanting to travel with wife in an RV... ..and wanted to buy mine! So sad for him and his family....my condolences to all. ...kath
