Obituary For Christopher John Carr
Christopher John Carr, 71, of Warren, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2025, at Rhode Island Hospital, with loved ones by his side.
Born in Newport, RI, he was the son of the late John and Christina (Platt) Carr.
Chris was a life long Newporter, leaving only after his mother’s death, to Warren, to be closer to his family. He was class of 1972 at Rogers High School.
Summer was always his favorite time of year and you would often find him behind the grill trying out a new recipe. Usually with one of the family dogs by his side and his music turned up loud. He loved the beach, whether here or in Florida, it was the perfect place for a Hawaiian shirt! Especially if it had flamingos on it.
If you were lucky enough to have him in your life, you know he loved hard…in his way. His sarcasm, wit and love were one of a kind and will be forever missed. He was a great father to “his girls”, grandfather to the “brats”, great-grandfather to “the little guy”, brother to “my brat sister” and uncle to his” KK”. His friends may as well have been family. He was lucky to have had long lasting and deep friendships with a selective few.
He is survived by his two daughters, Kelly Carr-Sobreiro and her husband Paul, Ashley Carr-Nuzzo and her husband Matt; his five grandchildren Paige, Grace and Jack Sobreiro, Kaiden and Logan Nuzzo; greatgrandchild Oliver Semiao; sister Melissa Brunelli; and niece Kaitlyn Shaker.
Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, RI 02885. Services are private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to Breakthrough T1D, for juvenile diabetes research.

Chris was one of my best friends for 45 years. We painted together, and partyed together and had lots of fun doung both. I moved from RI 27 years ago and never lost touch with my old friend. We didn't speak often, but when we did we would carry on for an hour. Synpathy to Kelly and family. Chris got as much out of life as he could.

Dear Mr Carr's family I didn't get to speak to him because he was content having his beer. He looked like a very nice man. I will not forget where he sat when he came in. Have a Beautiful Blessed week. Sonya Simmons friend of the C V club.
