Obituary For Dora Medeiros

Dora Borges (Martins) Medeiros, 71, of Bristol, RI, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Terceira, Azores, she was the daughter of the late José and Teresa (Borges) Martins. She was the devoted wife of Robert Medeiros.

Dora had a lifelong passion for fashion and creativity. For 20 years, she worked as a buyer at Gabrielle Apparel on the East Side of Providence, where she became known for her elegant window displays and impeccable taste. Later, she fulfilled a dream by opening Isadora’s Beaux, a one-of-a-kind boutique in Warren, RI, sharing her eye for style and her warm spirit with the community.

Beyond her career, Dora’s life was rich with love, laughter, and adventure. She cherished the arts, theater, and travel—but above all, she treasured time spent with her beloved family.

She is survived by her daughters, Renee Lynn Vieira of Riverside, RI, and Shandra Lee Pelagio and her husband, Scott Pelagio Sr., of Warren, RI; and her stepson, Robert C. Medeiros. She was predeceased by her stepson, Scott Medeiros. Dora also leaves behind her sisters, Maria Dina Coutts, Violet Viveiros, and Rita Aguiar, all of Port Charlotte, FL, and Lucy Powers of Taunton, MA. She was the adoring grandmother of Joseph E. and Christian R. Vieira; Scott Erik Pelagio Jr.; and Brooks, Avery, Kaya, Lex, Gabriel, and Amelia Medeiros.

Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, RI 02885. Services are private.
