Obituary For Doris A Ferrara

Doris A. Dorrie (Medeiros) Ferrara, 83 of Warren, died Saturday Oct. 17, 2015 at home. She was the beloved wife of Richard F. Ferrara, to whom she was married for over 63 years. Dorrie was born in Warren a daughter of the late Manuel and Marion (Lamora) Medeiros.

Mrs. Ferrara was a secretary to the Principal of the former Warren High School for over 20 years, before retiring. She was a parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Warren, where she was a member of the Rosary and Altar Society, she started with the society in New Jersey in 1963 and continued until 2015. Dorrie enjoyed baking and making holiday cookies for family and friends. She loved spending time with her family, children and grandchildren

Besides her husband, Dorrie is survived by her sons, Richard A. Ferrara and his wife Nancy of Warren, Nicholas Ferrara and his wife Jennifer of Warren, Michael Ferrara and his wife Nicole of Warren, her daughters Dorianne Souza and her husband John of Riverside, Rebecca Gordon and her husband Tom of Warren. Loving grandmother of 16 and great grandmother of 12. She was the sister of Madeline Ernest of Warren and the late Marion Amann. Mrs. Ferrara is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, where family will receive friends Wednesday, October 21st, 4-7pm. Funeral Thursday, October 22nd, 9am from the Funeral Home, with a mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 500 Metacom Avenue, Warren. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery. www.wjsmithfh.com
