Obituary for : EDMUND H. MORIN From: SMITH FUNERAL AND MEMORIAL SERVICE BRISTOL -- EDMUND H. MORIN, 92, of Bristol died Monday Jan. 19, 2015 at the R.I. Veterans Home Bristol. He was the husband of the late Charlotte ( Frederick) Morin. Mr. Morin was born in Bristol a son of the late Joseph and Louise ( Mercier) Morin. He was a Rubber worker for the Carr Fulflex company for over 40 years. Mr. Morin was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving as Staff Sergeant , during WWII , he received the Bronze Star, and purple Heart as a member of the 79th Infantry Division Company K . Edmund was a lifelong Bristol resident, and a parishioner of St. Marys Church. He was a bowler for Carr Fulflex, and was a member of the Senior bowling league at Dudeks. He was a member of the D.A.V., ITAM, and the Bristol Veterans Council. Mr. Morin was an avid Boston Red Sox Fan. Mr. Morin is survived by his son Robert Morin of Bristol, his daughter Rebecca Morin of Bristol . He was the grandfather of 4 and the great grandfather of 14, and also survived by a nephew Walter Checko. Mr. Morin was the father of the late Timothy Morin, and he was the brother of the late Walter Morin, and the Loretta Carreiro. His funeral will be held Friday at 9:00am from the Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Marys Church , 330 Wood Street Bristol, burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Marys Cemetery Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday from 5-8pm.
