Obituary For Edward C. Carreira
Edward C. Carreira, 76, of Warren, RI, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at home, surrounded by his loving family. The son of the late Edward L. and Dorothy (Dubois) Carreira, Edward was a longtime resident of Warren.
Edward proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy following his graduation from Warren High School. After his initial enlistment, Edward continued to serve in the National Guard. From there, he went on to earn his Associates Degree from Johnson and Wales College. Edward belonged to many clubs over the years including the Warren Portuguese American Club, the Warren German American Club and the IOOB club. In his leisure time, Edward enjoyed fishing, crabbing, playing cards and was an avid golfer. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.
Edward is survived by his daughter, Kristin Chase and her husband Bill of Rumford, RI; his longtime companion, Gail Almeida of Warren, RI; his sister, Joanne Coelho and her husband Fred of Swansea, MA; and his grandchildren, Sarah Chase of Riverside, RI and Matthew Chase of Venice, FL.
Services are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, RI 02885, where the family will receive relatives and guests for Visitation on Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 5-7PM. A private burial will be held at a later date.
