As a teenager Ed was adventurous and had a fun-loving spirit; however, he never looked for or started any trouble with anyone. He was raised by "The Boss" and Ma where he developed his strong character. A gentle person but a rock of a man. H e believed in and followed the practice of "I do what I say and I say what I do". And because of this you always knew where you stood with him. Ed proudly served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Barton and was a veteran of the Cuban Missile Crises and Naval Blockade. We thank him not only for his service but for his sacrifice. It was an honor to have known him not only as a friend, but as mu "blood brother" for 67 years. Through my tears,, I am saddened by his death. I have sent a spiritual bouquet, but I know that is unnecessary. The Marines have already passed him through the Pearly Gates. My thoughts and prayers go out to his entire family and his friends. FAIR WINDS AND FOLLOWING SEAS, ED. YOU HAVE THE WATCH - YOU HAVE BEEN RELIEVED. Bill (Myles) Doherty

Where to start. My Uncle Ed bought me my first cowboy outfit with gun and plastic caps, my first bazooka gun with 3" bullet, which I promptly shot my brother with "Mom greg shot me with his bazooka*. My first fishing pole, my first bow and arrow. My first unicycle, taught me how to fish, ride my bicycle, and my unicycle. He gave me my first ride in a corvette, and on a motorcycle, Later in life there was the machine shop. I never realized he was teaching me trigonometry until I was 50 years old studying electrical engineering . We spent hour working through my teens with the red socks always on the radio. I guess you could say he molded my life. I was there at his wedding with Aunty Dottie and watch each one of his born. I'm sure I missed a few things. I watch as he was left after Aunty Dottie as he raised all his children by himself each one of them the finest characteristics that eventually became the fabric of his legacy. If you did not know him, you really missed out. I loved him , and could never give back what he gave to me. Thank you. Love Gregory AJ MacDougall, Big hugs Cousins.
