Edward JP Daniel Provencal Sr., 90, of Cranston, RI, died Sunday, September 20, 2020, at Our lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence.

He was the husband of the late Beverly Ann (Jones) Provencal.

Born in Pawtucket, RI, he was the son of the late Edeas and Clairina (Plant) Provencal.

Mr. Provencal had worked as a cook at Ronnies Rascal House on the East Side and as an Executive Chef at the Queen of Clubs at Lincoln Downs. He later retired as head chef at Crickets Restaurant in North Smithfield, RI. He was a Veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid Miami Dolphin and Boston Red Sox fan. At the age of 90, he was a beach bum and loved sunbathing. Mr. Provencal enjoyed going to Iggys Restaurant for clam cakes, chowda and the view. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by six children, Edward Danny Provencal Jr., of Cranston, RI, Timothy Scott Ayers and his wife Jennifer of Warren, RI, William Provencal of Brooksville, FL, James Provencal of Brooksville, FL, Kimberly Provencal of Exeter, RI, and Donald McNally of Melbourne, FL, ten grandchildren, Allison Provencal, Danielle Provencal, Jennifer Almeida, William C. Provencal, Amanda L. Provencal, Bianca Provencal, Elizabeth Holmes, Michael Brady and his wife Kysa, Shyann McNally and Christine Wisenant, and eleven great grandchildren, Alivyana Provencal, Noah Almeida, AJ Almeida, Riley Almeida, Gia Rose Pagnozzi, Tasia Holmes, Dylan Holmes, Trevin Holmes, Elijah Thomas, Daydlus Brady, and Caydence Brady. He is also survived by a son-in-law Kenneth Brady and a daughter- in-law Lenore McNally.

He was also the father of the late Brenda Brady and Michael McNally.

Funeral services and burial will be private.
