Obituary For Edward M. Curria

Edward M. Curria, 70 lifelong resident of Warren Rhode Island, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday July 22, 2014 at home after a courageous Battle with cancer.

He was the beloved husband of Teresa Curria, father of Sherri Curria and Carol Cunha, and grandfather to three adoring grandchildren. He was the brother to Ronald and Kathleen Curria. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Curria, his lifelong fellow Warrenite friend George Kinney, two sons and a brother. In his youth he was a Warren Troup 1 Boy Scout , an Altar Boy at St. Thomas Church, and a graduate of Warren High School. He was in the US Army Reserves. He was a sheet metal worker for All State Fabricators until his retirement. Ed was a member of the Warren Portuguese American Club, and the East Warren Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed traveling, cooking for his family and helping others.

His funeral will be held Saturday July 26 2014, at 10:00am from the Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 School House Road Warren, followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon in St. Thomas the Apostle Church 500 Metacom Ave. Warren, burial with Military Honors will be in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours Saturday from 10:00- 1130 am , In lieu of flowers, donation in his memory can be made to Palliative Care Service, Lahey Hospital and Medical Center, 41 Mall Road, Burlington MA 01805. www.wjsmithfh.com

    The loss of a loved one is devastating. It is comforting to know that not only is God aware of the grief you are going through at this time but also that He is compelled to do something about it. God has promised that there is going to be a resurrection at a time when He will have removed all sickness, pain and death from the earth forever. (Acts 24:15; Revelation 21:4; Psalm 37:11, 29; Titus 1:2) Until that wonderful promise from God is fulfilled, may He soothe your grieving hearts and grant you peace now and in the days to come.     Dearest Terri and Sherri so sad for your families loss of your husband and father. I have been thinking of all the lovely times you have had on your family vacations in Florida, which Sherri would speak often about. Those good memories will serve you well in the future and whilst you mourn this sudden loss.Always remember what a good wife and daughter you both are and always will be.     Terrie, Sherri, Carol and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. Terrie my heart goes out to you as you have lost your lifelong friend and partner I feel your pain. Sherri and Carol It is not easy to lose your Dad. But God will be with you all in this time of sadness for you.     Terrie, Please accept my belated condolences on your loss. I remember that Eddie was diagnosed with cancer before I retired over 16 years ago. It was a long battle for both of you. I am sure it is not easy to go on without your lifelong partner. I hope that you are well. Dick Zinno
