Emily S. (Fortuna) Polak, 91 of Warren, passed peacefully on Thursday May 26, 2016 at Grace Barker Nursing Home surrounded by loving family and friends.

She was the beloved wife of Frederick W. Polak.

Emily was born in Fall River MA, a daughter of the late Peter and Katarzyna (Szustkiewicz) Fortuna. A graduate of Dominican Academy and Thibodeau Business School, Emily worked for U.S. Department of the Navy and Brown & Sharpe before raising her family.

A Warren resident for 68 years, Emily was a communicant of the former St. Casimir Church and is now a parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. While at St Casimir, she was a lector and served as President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer of the Rosary Society.

Emily is survived by her children Steven M. of Dallas, Texas, Matthew J., of Warren, Thomas E., (Kathryn A. Gianello) of Hudson, New Hampshire and Kathryn A. of Canton, MA. She is predeceased by four brothers and two sisters and leaves behind many loving relatives.

A devoted wife and mother, Emily cherished spending time with her family and friends.

A private mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, May 28 at 10:00 am in St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Warren. Burial followed in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery.
