Eugene R. Lopes, 71, of Bristol, died Monday July 24,2017 at the Rhode Island Veterans Home.

He was born in Providence a son of the late James and Rita ( Goulart) Lopes.

Mr. Lopes,was a Driver for a cab company for many years.

He was a United States Navy Veteran.

He has lived in Bristol for 10 years, coming from East Providence, RI

He enjoyed sports and was a New York Yankees fan, and he also enjoyed shopping and collecting sports memorabilia.

Eugene enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter.

Mr. Lopes is survived by his daughters Michelle Kennedy of North Kingstown, RI, and Stephanie Ann Lopes of West Warwick, RI, and his sister Carole Lopes of Bristol.

He was the grandfather of 5, and also survived by his nieces and nephews.

Eugene was the brother of the late George Lopes, and the late James " Jimmy" Lopes.

His calling hours will be held Saturday July 29, 2017 from 10:00am - 12:00pm, in the Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
