Evelyn M. (Turner) Strickland, 97, of Warren, RI, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 15, 2026, with her family beside her. A daughter of the late Arthur and Julia (Patrosky) Turner and the beloved wife of the late Gibson Strickland, Evelyn was a lifelong resident of Warren.

Evelyn was a lifelong member of St. Mark’s Parish, until the parish closed. She took great pride in raising her five children and loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchild. In her leisure time, Evelyn was a longtime member of the Bowling League at Dudek Lanes and loved reading and travelling.

Evelyn is survived by her sons, Robert Strickland of Warren, RI and Ronald Strickland of East Kingston, NH; her daughters, Judith Chiaverini of Gatesville, TX, Jean Settele of Port St. Lucie, FL and Patricia Krueger of Palm City, FL; her ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd. Warren, RI 02885, where the family will receive relatives and guests for Visitation on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 from 10-11AM followed by a Prayer Service in the Funeral Home at 11AM. A Burial will follow at South Burial Ground, Sowamset Ave. Warren, RI 02885.
