Obituary For Everett Joseph Sousa

Sousa, Everett J, 76, of Child Street, died Tuesday, November 30, 2010, at Home & Hospice Care of RI in Providence. Born in Bristol a son of the late Joseph and Rose (Bettencourt) Sousa. He was the beloved husband of Mary Ann (Bilotti) Sousa. He was employed by State of Rhode Island for 28 years as a labor supervisor, before retiring in 1994. He played with several area Drum & Bugle Corps. He was a member of the RI National Guard. A member of the Warren Fire Department, Central Fire Company Engine 1 and past member of the Rescue Squad. He was a volunteer at Mount Hope High and every year helped the Warren Rotary with the Quahog Festival. He was an avid Bowler and golfer as well as a Yankee fan. He spends some of the winter in Sarasota, Fl. Besides his wife, he leaves his children, E. J. Sousa, Doreen Vadnais and Melissa Baldinelli all of Bristol. Grandfather of Jordan Sousa, Madison Sousa, Sean Vadnais, Julia Sousa, Bianca Baldinelli and Dominic Baldinelli. He was the brother of the late Dorothy Medeiros. Arrangements with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, where the family will receive friends 4-8pm, Friday, December 3rd. Funeral Saturday, December 4th, 9am from the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St Mary of the Bay Church, Main Street, Warren. Interment will be at North Burial Ground in Bristol.     To the family of Everett We are so sorry for your loss. It is not only difficult to lose your loved one, but a most difficult time of year. VIRGIL HAS KNOWN EVERETT OVER 60 YEARS AND STILL REMEMBERS THE GOOD TIMES THEY HAD PLAYING ON THE BRISTOL TOWN COMMON AND WHEN THEY WERE IN THE BOY SCOUTS. WE ARE BOTH VERY SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS.
