Florence A. (Almedia) Long, 87 of Warren died Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at the Evergreen Nursing Home, in East Providence.

She was the wife of the late James Leroy Long.

Florence was born in Warren a daughter of the late Edward and Emily (Pasqual) Almeida.

Mrs. Long was a Seamstress for the Howard Wolf Incorporated of Texas for many years before retiring.

She has been a Warren resident since 1986.

Mrs. Long is survived by her son David Long of Andover, Kansas, her daughters Katherine MacDonald of Arlington, Texas, and Patricia GreavesBaker of Wichita Kansas, her brothers Edward Almeida of Florida, Robert Almeida of Warren.

Mrs. Long was the grandmother of 8, and the great grandmother of 2, and the great- great grandmother of 2, also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late James S. Hughes, and the sister of the late William Almeida, and the late Dennis Almeida and also the late Mary Rose Niewodowski.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service Monday, May 23, 2016 at 2:00 pm in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Vernon Street, Warren, RI .
