Obituary For Florence Allen

Florence (Almeida) Allen, 86 of Bristol, died Sunday Oct. 23, 2016 at R.I. Hospital. She was the wife of Cecil Allen.

She was born in Bristol, a daughter of the late Antonio and Mary (Medeiros) Almeida. Florence was an assembler at R & J manufacturing for many years. She has been a Bristol resident all of her life, she was a member of the Christian Community Bible Church in Riverside. Mrs. Allen was an avid knitter, and crocheting, and enjoyed making crafts. She loved to cook and spend time with her family.

Besides her husband she is survived by her 4 sons Robert Allen and his wife Susan of Warren, Donald Ricky Allen and his wife Debbie of Bristol, Roy and his wife Kris of Bristol, and Cecil Jimmy Allen Jr. and his wife Karen of Atlanta Ga.

She was the sister of Virgil Almeida and Arthur Almeida, both of Bristol, Rosaline Putt of Cheektowaga NY, Catherine Bradley of New Jersey, Irene Garner of Illinois and Evelyn Nappi of Bristol.

She was the grandmother of 13, great grandmother of 19, and the great- great grandmother 2, also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by many brothers and sisters.

Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, RI where family will receive friends Wednesday Oct. 26, 2016 from 4-7pm, followed by a service at 7:00pm.     Dear "T" Allen and family - there are no words to express our sadness and sorrow to hear of "T" Florence's passing. Know that we are filled with wonderfully warm memories of her. 4th of July's at her house are especially special, not to mention what an amazing cooking she was. As much as I would "use her recipes" my dishes never tasted as good as hers! You will be in our prayers during this time and in the coming days and weeks.
