Georgie was so wonderful. When I was about 9 or 10, â??Donaldâ?? called me on my birthday one year (he was a good friend of my Dadâ??s and my Dad had asked him to call me and George was more than happy to oblige). My Dad, Frankie Paliotta, used to play jazz guitar and would always sit-in with Julio and Shorty at Asquinoâ??s. When my father was jamming with them, George would often come and sit with me, keeping me company, chatting, and joking around. By tradition, every night the band played, George closed with the last song and I wouldnâ??t leave until he sang. Georgie was the best Mâitre Dâ?? ever - no one was the wiser if he was ever in a bad mood because he greeted each guest with warmth and joviality every time... he simply WAS Asquinoâ??s! He was unfailingly sweet and always, always made us all laugh. His memory is certainly alive here. Sending my deepest condolences with all my heart to you and your family. ð???

"I remember him!!!" I told my husband with a warm smile on my face when I read this. We were on a date in the late 70's at Asquino's and we were waiting for our dinner when George came to the table to entertain us. He grabbed a lemon from the bar and placed a napkin over it, with the four corners twisted and pushed it across the table and it looked like a crab!!! We laughed hysterically and never forgot that night. He was gifted with a golden personality!!! Heaven has been graced with great entertainment. God Bless!!!

I was introduced to George by my father who was from the Hill, then I introduced my son to George. I work at ANN&HOPE, George would always come and find me we would laugh and tell jokes. Helen would shop every aisle. I would call my son up â??Come to the store George is hereâ??. They would sit for 2 hours. Dear Helen, I will miss seeing you both. Ann&HOPE is closing. One of my favorite memories will always be talking to you and George. With much love and sympathy your friends Donna and Dennis Paolucci.

I remember him well as a kid growing up in Rumford - our visits to Asquinos were always a treat and as a restaurateur I made his warm and hospitable style a model for welcoming diners to my restaurant... although I never mastered Donald Duck - in a small way George lives on when I greet my guests. Sorry for you loss. Bob Burke

My condolences to George's family. George had a special gift for entertaining everyone. Our friendship started at "The New Farm Restaurant" in Warwick. I especially liked the skit he would do with his hand held stuffed characters. I liked it so much I stole the act and used it myself. When he was told what I did he remarked "Don't be steeling my act, get your own". LOL. He was and will remain a legend in the entertainment business in addition will be remembered as "one great guy with a huge heart who loved too entertain his audience. Rest in piece my friend and keep them laughing in heaven... God will be sitting in the front row... Frank Castle.
