Obituary For George R Pelletier

George R. Pelletier, 64 of Bristol, died unexpectedly Tuesday Nov. 4, 2014 at R.I. Hospital. He was the husband of Valerie (Gaines) Pelletier, they were married for over 45 years. Mr. Pelletier was born in Providence a son of the late George and Lorraine (Champagne) Pelletier.

George was the Store Director for the Shaws Markets of Barrington for over 20 years, prior to Shaws he worked at the former Almacs stores. He had served in the National Guard. He has been a Bristol resident for over 35 years, coming from Barrington. He was a parishioner and an usher at St. Mary of the Bay Church.

Mr. Pelletier was a member of the Warren Rod & Gun Club , he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a Harley Davidson Motorcycle enthusiast, and rider, and also enjoyed scuba diving. He liked to travel and go on vacations.

Besides his wife he is survived by his sons Christopher and Robin Pelletier of Seekonk MA., Jarod and Gail Pelletier of Warren, his sister Suzanne Sue Aubin of Warren, a step brother Roger Lambert Jr. of Port Charlotte Florida, his step sisters Donna Cunard of Attleboro, and Sylvia Serpa of Warren. Mr. Pelletier was the grandfather of Alex and Kate Pelletier of San Francisco, CA., Hannah, Emma, and Ryan Pelletier of Seekonk MA., Chris Reasor of Chico, TX., Cade and Tyler Pelletier of Warren.

His funeral will be held Monday, Nov. 10, 2014 at 9:00am from the SMITH FUNERAL & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road , Warren, followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main St. Warren, burial will follow in North Burial Ground Bristol.

    Val, my deepest sympathies to you and your family. George was a great man, he truly had a heart of gold. He helped me without a moments hesitation when I needed it, as I'm sure countless others throughout his life. I will cherish forever the times spent with the two of you, I'm so glad I get to have those memories. My you rest in peace George.

    Val we are all so sorry for yours and your families loss. We all had the pleasure of working for George for many years at shaws in Barrington. He was the best manager always fair in his decisions and always there if you needed him. This is not only a huge loss for you and your family but for the shaws "family" as well. Your in our hearts and our prayers! We love you Val!!!

    Val, I have been away for several days and just learned tonight of the sudden passing of your dear husband. My deepest sympathy is extended to you and your family.     Sending love and prayers to your family. I worked with George for a few months in the Middletown Location of Shaws. I had left for the Army and George was such a great leader in encouraging me to push harder for bigger and better things. All of our talks always consisted of the Military!     Val and family: George was a wonderful person and a valued member of the Shaw's family. Many associates have expressed how much George taught them and how he went out of his way to help them whenever they needed a hand. He will be sadly missed.
