Obituary For Helen Winifred Danielson

Helen Winifred Danielson, 91, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2016 at Eastgate Nursing Home, in East Providence, RI.

She was the beloved wife of the late Edwin L. Danielson.

Born in Pawtucket, Helen was the daughter of the late John and Winifred (Crawley) Wilson.

Helen was a cook for the Sisters of Mercy Convent, St. Mary's Church in Pawtucket. She also worked in her brother's restaurant, Johnny Wilson's Place, West Ave, with her late brother, John and his wife, Yvette.

Helen loved camping with her family in upstate New York and on the Cape Cod canal. Her camping trailer was fondly named "Mum's Mink." She enjoyed cooking for everyone especially at family gatherings. Helen was deeply devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Helen is survived by her two sons, Edwin L. Danielson Jr. and his wife, Delores, of East Providence and Robert J. Danielson and his wife Ann-Marie of Smithfield. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer M. Dickson, and her husband, Brian, of Smithfield and Erika A. Danielson of Florida, and her brother, Robert Wilson and his late wife, Ruth of Florida. Helen also leaves behind two great grandsons, Liam and Seamus Dickson.

Funeral services from the Gus and Alice Smith Memorial Chapel of the Smith Funeral Home in Warren were private at the family's convenience.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Catherine Tattrie and Rosemary Alden and the entire staff at Smith Funeral Home. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Eastgate Nursing Home for creating a family atmosphere for their mother. They would also like to deeply thank Beacon Hospice for coming to their aid at this time of need.

    I remember Helen from 65 or 70 years ago. She was, I believe, the niece of Mrs. Ida Wilkinson. I was a boyhood friend of Mrs. Wilkinson'a son Alfred. My sincere condolences to the family.
