Warren Helena M. (Moitoso) Furtado, 96, of Warren, died Sunday December 29 2019 at Orchard View Manor Nursing Home in East Providence, RI.

She was the wife of the late Henrique Furtado.

She was born in Faial, Azores a daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Medeiros) Moitoso.

She was a Machine Operator for over 20 years at the former Well- Made Dress Shop, before retiring.

Helena has lived in this area since 1960 coming from the Azores.

She was a parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, where she always worked helping prepare for the Holy Ghost Feast for many years.

She enjoyed playing Whisk games at the Warren Senior Center.

She loved crocheting and sewing.

Mrs. Furtado is the mother of the late Maria Brimmer and her husband Luis Brimmer of Swansea and Maria Zorra and her husband John of Swansea.

She was the grandmother of 9 and the great grandmother of 15, also the great- great grandmother of 2. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Rose Garcia, Maria Garcia and Deolinda Moitoso.

Her funeral will be held Saturday January 4 2020 at 9:00 am from the SMITH FUNERAL AND MEMORIAL SERVICES, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Thomas the Apostle Church,500 Metacom Avenue, Warren.

Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol, RI.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Friday from 5:00 pm 7:00 pm.
