Obituary For Henrique V. Arruda

Henrique “Henry” J. Arruda, 54, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. He was the companion of Jennifer Medina for 23 years before his passing.

Born in the Ponta Delgada Azores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Duarte Manuel Reis and Maria De Fatima (Vierra) Arruda.

Henry lived a life built on hard work, love, and dedication. He spent his career as a Formwork Carpenter , taking great pride in the work he did and the things he helped build. His strong work ethic, determination, and willingness to lend a helping hand earned him the respect of everyone who knew him.

When Henry wasn’t working, he found happiness outdoors. Whether he was enjoying nature, spending time outside, or simply appreciating the fresh air, that’s where he felt most at home. He found joy in life’s simple moments and taught those around him to do the same. He also had a deep love for animals that naturally drew them to him. His compassion extended not only to his family and friends but to every animal he encountered. Showcasing the type of man he was.

Above all, henry was an incredible father. His love for his family was unwavering, and he always put the people he loved before himself. He was a source of strength, guidance, laughter, and comfort. His kindness, generous heart, and gentle spirit touched countless lives, and anyone who had the privilege of knowing him knew what a truly remarkable man he was.

He leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and who will forever cherish the memories, lessons, laughter, and unconditional love he gave so freely. Though our hearts are broken, we are grateful for every moment we shared with him and for the lasting impact he made on our lives.

His legacy will live on in the lives he touched, the love he gave, and the strong foundation he built not only through his work, but through the family and friendships he treasured.

He will be forever loved, forever missed, and forever remembered.

In addition to his fiancé Jennifer, Henry is survived by his children: David J. Arruda, Katrina L. Arruda, Khloe L. Arruda; his grandchildren: Ashton J. Arruda and Audrey L. Arruda; his siblings: Paulo, Nelia, Duarte “Eddie”, Maria, Joey, and the late Gilberto, Rui, Nelly and Veronica; and many extended relatives and friends.

Henry was a friend of almost 30 years. Met him when we were young in our bar room days. We were always in touch never went more than a few days without seeing each other. I did not understand why he did not return my text or stop by. After two weeks I got a response with the bad news. Now I fully understand the saying "You don't know what you got till it's gone". He did not die in vain and left a big hole in all the lives of those who knew him. The angel of death has no mercy; my heart is broken. May God bless you old friend and bless all those who morn you're passing.
