Hirum was a man who had somehow successfully achieved the perfect, albeit often elusive, magical mix of devotion to family, success in business and fulfilling one's civic obligation to do charitable works. Having hailed from a prominent Warren family with a legacy of civic contributions, Hirum successfully found his place among Warren's icons by humbly operating his storefront Independent Insurance Agency with his beloved wife and soulmate Irene ever by his side. Together they created a business that not only sold insurance and provided tax services, but which became a community outpost for the locals who would just stop by to say hello, catch up on life with Hirum and Irene or seek some sage wisdom and advice from Hirum on the problems and issues of the day. The business operation Hirum created helped him provide for his family of four children, whom he cherished infinitely, and to provide him with a platform to do charitable works in the community whether it be through Masonic events or just on his own. Hirum had a huge heart and felt there was no greater calling in life than to be present in the lives of his children and to assist the less fortunate. He would often speak of the challenges of maintaining that balance in one's life, and surely he had managed to achieve it. While many will remember him for his legacy of achievement and variety of offices in numerous Masonic organizations, it was his role as a devoted husband, father and grandfather which he loved most and where he had his greatest success! Hirum's ever-present smile could illuminate the gloomiest of days and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. A life well and properly lived such as our dear Father, Father-in-law and Grandfather Hirum lived, leaves those of us who witnessed it with a treasure trove of fond memories and a shining example of a way of living that is to be emulated and aspired to. This world which has lately seen so much tragedy and hate, could surely use more people

What a wonderful world this could be if we all followed the example of the way Mr Jamiel lived his life. We are so sorry for your loss, and know that he will be missed greatly. I have fond memories of Uncle Hirum. He always seemed enthusiatic, kind and polite, and he knew the secret of contentment--a thankful spirit. It seemed everytime I spoke to him he said, "I'm thankful". Uncle Hirum was a loyal brother to my mom (as were all her brothers),travelling all the way to NH for her funeral because "she was worth it". When my mom became a widow Uncle Hirum visited her in Illinois and "saved her property" by finding the deed. Our hearts and sympathy go out to you all.

Though I know that this is a difficult time for you, my hope is that you will be comforted from God's inspired word the Bible. John 5:28,29 and Revelation 21: 3,4 gives hope of a future resurrection and the complete elimination of death, pain and mourning. Under Jesus' kingdom rule we have this and much more to look forward to. Please accept my deepest condolences.
