Obituary For Jake P. McElroy

Warren - Jake P. McElroy,32, of Warren, died unexpectedly on Monday Dec.9,2019 at home.

He was the husband of Catherine (Sousa) McElroy.

Jake was born in Providence a son of Maryanne (Grenier) McElroy of Rumford and the late Robert McElroy Jr.

He was a Custodian for Roger Williams University for over 14 years.

Jake has been a Warren and Bristol resident for most of his life coming from East Providence.

Jake enjoyed fishing, watching movies and travelling.

He was very artistic and like drawing many things.

Jake liked spending time outside, and taking nature walks.

He had also played soccer.

Besides his wife he is survived by his son Jayden McElroy, his brothers Robert McElroy, III, of Warren, William McElroy of Tiverton, his step brother Sean Alegria of Bristol and his step sister Kristin Alegria of Warren. He was the paternal grandson of Mary McElroy of Florida and also the son- in- law of Jose and Maria Sousa of Warren.

He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be held Friday, December 13, 2019 at 11:30 am in the SMITH FUNERAL and MEMORIAL SERVICES, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren.

Burial will follow in St. Mary of the Bay Cemetery, Vernon Street, Warren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are FRIDAY MORNING from 9:00 am - 11:00 am.

    he is my step uncle, remove step from it and he is my uncle I have spent time playing soccer with him and Jayden with my sister the same age as him I am very sad i cant even type, im sorry all love to aunt Cathy too, ill visit soon

    I hadnâ??t seen Jake since we were kids. I didnâ??t know he had a baby or that he was still in Bristol-Warren. Iâ??m so sorry for his young family; I canâ??t imagine what that must be like. Wishing weâ??d reconnected and sending all of the blessings possible on to his family and mom, who was always so generous with me growing up.
