Obituary For James N. Creel

James N. Creel Jr. a longtime Rehoboth, MA and former Bristol, RI resident, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 19th, 2014, at 75 years.

Born in Florence, SC and raised in Charleston, SC, he was the beloved son of the late James N. Creel and the late Maude (Harwell).

Beloved husband for 52 years to Jane D. (Bettencourt) Creel. Devoted and loving father of James N. Creel III, Kevin S. Creel, Lee A. Creel, N. Todd Creel, Cynthia L. Creel, and Kelly Fenzel. Dear son in law of Mabel Bettencourt. Cherished granddaddy of Sarah Creel, Abigail Creel Phenix, Taylor Creel, Jimmy Lee Creel, and Lindsay McGuire. Great granddad of Parker, Lillian, and Grayson McGuire. He is also survived by his loving Yorkshire Terriers, Bailey and Cody.

Prior to his retirement, Jim was a longtime commercial union painter. He was a member of the Painters Union Local 195 and proud member of the NRA. A self taught man, Jim became proficient in many trade skills such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and mechanics. He enjoyed numerous hobbies over the years including fishing, hunting, beekeeping, raising livestock, ham radios, singing and playing guitar, and one of his favorites, antique car restoration.

Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd, Warren, where family will receive friends Monday June 23rd from 6PM - 8PM. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday June 24th at 11 AM. Services will conclude with interment in the old historic North Burial Ground, Bristol, RI.
