Jane was such a wonderful person. She was devoted to her family, of course, as well as to the greater community of differently-abled people. Hers was a lifetime of caring and inspiring compassion in others. She and Charlie were certainly pioneers in creating opportunity for those needing supports to access their community. My heart goes out to you in your loss, Charlie, Mary Jane, Paul, & Kevin. XO Lisa Peterson Chew

My brother John articulated beautifully Aunt Jane's daily loving support shown not to just her children and husband but to her entire family. Aunt Jane will be forever etched in my memory as nonjudgmental, kind, and strong. I never heard her complain ever. And that Laugh: so generous and infectious. I recall her crying just once and it broke my heart. Years later, I cried over a similar situation and I regretted not giving her even the briefest of hugs. When we grow up with an aunt like Jane, we learn what truly matters: family and unconditional love.

Mr. Dyer, Mary Jane, Paul, and Kevin and the Whole Family, Tears have been shed, and smiles shared. How lucky we all are for having known your mom. Take comfort in Jesus' own words in a parable, Matthew 25:21, "Well done, my good and faithful servant...Come, share your master's joy." I'm sure that Mrs. Dyer has heard those words already. I have so many fond memories of our late summer days with Aunt Jane and Uncle Charlie. We would be playing soccer in the back yard and under their observation with our parents. I realize now Aunt Jane never once imposed her feelings related to her son not participating, our cousin Kevin. Having my own son with what we now know is autism and intellectual disability can have herculean challenges that I wish I could have been more empathetic, inclusive and understanding when I was younger. However, Aunt Jane was always positive and supportive and taught me so much of what I use everyday of my life in both healthcare and personal life. Although she will be missed, her spirit and support will live on.
