Obituary For Janice D. Vorro

Janice (Dennis) Vorro, of East Providence, RI and formerly Bristol, RI passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025 at the age of 79.

Born on September 11, 1946 in Fall River, MA, Janice lived a life marked by compassion, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family. After the passing of her beloved husband, Andrew, she faced life’s challenges with remarkable grace and courage, raising their three children—Jennifer, Nancy and Peter —with love, faith, and determination.

Janice will be remembered for her wit, her laughter, and the kindness she shared with everyone she met. She was a devout Catholic, serving various parishes as a CCD teacher and adult sacrament instructor. Janice was also an avid reader and she loved watching Law and Order. Some of her most memorable times were spent with her husband Andy, her children, family and friends during the Bristol 4th of July festivities. Her legacy of love and humor will continue to live on in her children and the lives she touched.

She is survived by her three children, Jennifer Vorro (Judith Valentine), Nancy Vorro and Peter Vorro; her sisters Jayne Dennis (Jeffrey Skillings) and Cynthia Perry (William Perry); her nieces and nephews, her sisters in law Mary Jane Dow, Nancy E. Vorro and Elizabeth Vorro and many dear friends.

Services are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd., Warren, RI 02885, where the family will receive relatives and guests for Visitation on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 from 4-6PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 10AM in St. Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main Street, Warren, RI 02885.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association at www.dementiasociety.org/donate.

A week ago, I had gone accross from where Janice was located. And gave some thought to check in on her. Unfortunately, there are a couple of rescue vehicles with flashing lights there at the time. Not wanting to add to the confusion, I put it off. It had been quite a while since I saw her, and not sure that made me think about visiting.I guess there was no reason why she came to mind. We had been friends for years, especially with Andy, who was on the 4th of July Committee. We worked so well together, and with Janice and my wife, Pat. I don't think we would have made it. Andy and Janice were precisely what I needed to keep me going, and I hope the same for them. I remember when Andy passed, and the impact it had on all of us. Every 4th planning reminds me of the wonderful, times we had with them. We will miss you Janice, and quite sure Andy no doubt is thrilled that you are together again. Eternal Rest Janice, we will miss you. Love you, Pat and Jim Farley 🙏🏻 🇺🇸🙏🏻
